Water is without a doubt the building blocks of life. But, did you know water can be just the thing to cut those unwanted and unnecessary calories in your diet. Studies show that nearly 20% of our calorie intake per day comes from liquids. Coffees, carbonated drinks, energy drinks, etc are major culprits in people struggle against weight gain. I know for coffee drinkers this could be considered blasphemy but, cutting these drinks out can be the equivalent of a trip to the gym. Strictly on a calorie count basis. There are even more reasons to switch to water than calories.

A second visit to the gym this week. That is good. Tonight the entire family came. Beetle and Fritz went to the Child Watch program as Gert joined me in the gym. The treadmill and Precor were hardly on before we were informed Fritz needed a diaper change. Gert stepped up on this. The problem, of course, was that we did not bring a diaper bag. Sigh . . . Gert took the boy home, changed him, and returned.

During any exercise and diet regimen, losing the first few pounds is often very easy. That's good because it's a great motivator when you see results right away. But as you lose more, the rate of loss, and the speed with which you see visible effects, slows down. It's hard to keep going when you aren't seeing the benefits.

I'm on week 4 of the Men's Health TNT Diet (http://www.menshealth.com/tnt). I've lost about 4 lbs, but I have lost inches. It's a diet and a work out program. I have been following it pretty closely and I'm seeing results. The best part about the diet is I'm never really hungry. I do miss milk, bread, and fruit. However, I do get to enjoy them again next week. I recommend this plan for anyone who wants to loose fat and build muscle.

Back. It's too easy not to go to the gym. I need to find the excuses to go.

Tonight was tiring. I spent 35 minutes of the treadmill. Most of that was spent at 14% grade and a 15-minute pace. In all I did 2.25 miles, which included a warm-down lap. As I got off I felt more tentative than I normally do. My heart rate was up to 170 today. I felt fine on, but it seemed like I was exhausted once off. I think I am just tired.

I went for a run today. That's the synopsis!

History
There is no history. I'm a lazy runner. I'm a frequent soccer player (about 4-5 times a week) playing outdoors twice and indoors 3 times a week. If there is a ball to chase I can seem to run a lot longer, but running for runnings sake has been really difficult for me.
