This Fall I plan on playing for the hockey team I once quit from 2 years ago due to medical problems. I haven't been on the ice since then and I feel I have to make it up this summer. I won't be able to get on the ice or get any weights so I am turning to some No Equipment Methods.

1. Hockey Training
(a.) Stick Handling
(b.) Shooting
2. U.S. Navy SEAL Workout
3. The TNT Dynamic Warmup
(a.) Doing this every Day
4. P90x
5. Working Towards 100+ Pushups

For starters...

Hi all,

I am not entirely sure how I landed on Gimme20, but would like to introduce myself and why I am here. On occasion, while perusing through the internet universe, I stumble upon useful/interesting/inspiring sites that motivate me to join. As a social networking butterfly, I enjoy collaborating with others about a range of topics: food, culture and fitness being my favorites.

So my gyms under construction and finding focus in the place is becoming dim and difficult to say the least! Today though, two good friends of mine (to keep it simple and annonymous we'll call them John and Bob) were able to inspire me and give me the strength I needed to get in there and have a solid workout! See, "Bob" is a die hard sports buff and fitness enthusiast, and anytime I find myself with him I just wanna go try and better myself by working out! Same with "John", he's a younger guy with enough fitness knowledge in his mind to write a book!

My goal was to weigh 140 by the end of July, and this morning I weighed 140. So there you are. Next up: 135 by the end of August. Onward and...downward.

My other goal, just for this week, is to burn 200 calories a day in planned exercise. That's an easy goal -when I exercise. But I need to increase the number of days each week that I actually do something. Yesterday I did a bit of rock climbing and some yoga, so I was probably on target for Sunday. Today I need to do Power Yoga for Stamina, my 10-minute Pilates add-on to that, and an hour and 15 minute bike ride.

Process-wise, I really REALLY need to increase my strength work. Rock climbing was a bit of a disaster. In part, when I can't get up a climb, it's a failure of courage. I've had a lot of those lately. But in part if was a failure of strength, particularly upper body and core strength. Crap. Core work is NOT my favorite, but I suppose the only place to go from here is up!

Weight loss and goal setting are two inseparable things. I m sure you have heard of the adage that says "if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail". This is as true as it gets when it comes to losing weight.

It is not that people do not know that they need to lose weight, rather is the accuracy of how much they need to lose and why they need to lose it that is not clear. The same way you are likely to run off the road if you are driving in the dark without lights, is the same way you would fail if your weight loss endeavor if your planning is not accurate.

You likely have heard that you need to lose between one pound and two pounds a week. And as much as this is very safe and commendable advice, it is not necessarily a hard fast rule.

I am leaving in July to go to Italy for a week and a half and plan to get at the very least ten pounds off this body of mine! I would love to meet people with the same goals in mind to keep in touch with and check one another's progress. I am very open minded and love to meet new people. Give me a chance as I will give you....

This is the unavoidable First Blog Entry. I want to lose about 36 pounds before October 13, 2007, when I will be getting married. There's a tummy, a chin, and two thighs I want to seriously lose some flab on before then! Since I struggle with stress and depression, I've decided to pursue this goal by developing a consistent and challenging Yoga routine for myself. I'm starting with the "Yoga Now" DVD set with Rodney Yee and Mariel Hemingway, and my daily routine with these DVDs is this:

  • Morning: 10 Minute A.M. Energizer
  • Day: 30 or 50 Minute Core Workout
  • Evening: 10 Minute P.M. Destressor

Well, my goal is not to eat meat until the end of September and see what happens.
(that means i have to devour insane amounts of salmon)

and to exercise every day, or almost every day of the week

and to get to 115lbs.

Apparently by November it can happen.
