Weight Loss
Waiting to See!
So, I have been keeping up with my weight tracking for the past month or so but have been feeling frustrated as I watch the line stay pretty stagnant across the chart. While I have been happy with my progress, it is just taking longer than it should and for good reason I'm sure.
Just Get Out!
I woke up yesterday feeling ready for battle. I have had a great past two weeks holding steady at a 4 pound loss. I was nervous because of our 4th of July trip to Colorado. It is hard to keep weight off while on the road. I did, however, and it made me feel great when I got home.

Get Lean While You Sleep
Hi everyone, I'm John Spencer Ellis, CEO of National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association and a member of the Sleep Number Quality of Life Advisory Board. I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about the importance of sleep as it pertains to fitness, weight loss and overall wellness.
Without the right amount of quality sleep, you cannot fully recover from your exercise session and prepare for the next one or attain optimal body fat levels. And lack of sleep actually inhibits lean muscle - you need this to increase your metabolism.

When Motivation fails
One of the biggest factors for sabotaging your new good intensions. New Years resolutions, for starting a new life, getting in shape. Is the motivation. Many of us trainees, can recognize it very well, we simply just dont wanna hit the gym, for some reason. Trainees that has been working out for years, are aware of it and most of us knows how to handle it, so it becomes a part of out work out cyklus. As a personal trainer I have seen many times, people with the best intentions, fail because of lack of motivation. How can we handle this?
Here we go!!
OK bloggers, time to be semi-publicly held to my convictions. I've "tried" to lose weight a number of times before, but always seem to lose motivation.
I have 15 pounds to lose, and while this may not seem like too much to some, I shouldn't be at this weight and would be far healthier were I to weigh less. Gradual is OK, but sometimes I take "gradual" to mean "I can have this half-pint of Haagen-Dasz because I don't want to be obsessive about dieting", so I'll need to work on that a bit.
82.3 lbs down, 17.7 lbs to go...
It is May 1st. Weighed myself this morning, and I was at 216.1. This is the lowest my weight has been in at least 15 years, and I am feeling awesome. I am only 17.7 lbs away from my goal weight of 100 lbs lost. I have had a personal trainer for the last month, and she has helped me get past that pesky plateau, and on with losing weight again. I have also joined a running group twice a week. Ran a 5K road race on March 30th and will be running a 10K on June 7th. I am also now starting to train really hard for a 30K road race next March as well.
Nutritionist
I have been working out now since November, 5 months. I can honestly say that the last two months of that time I have been putting in some serious effort working out 2 - 3 times per week, weight training and cardio, trying to eat healthily... but as I'm not seeing any results. I have gained about 8 pounds which I knew would happen as a result of "Body Pump" (Amazing Weight Training Class at Goodlife Fitness) but am not seeing or feeling any difference in size to go along with it. One pair of my pants is actually tighter!
